Hi-Lo 2026 Kickoff Recap

The 2026 season has begun, and the rollercoaster has officially left the station. It came as no surprise that Hi-Lo saw 100% participation, with every point already proving crucial to a top-tier finish.

As Nick tried to herd the cats into the barn to kick off the 2026 season, drama was already unfolding. For the first time, Josh G was out of his truck and fully accounted for. As roll call sounded off to ensure everyone had their partner, one guy stood alone—unaware that his partner hadn’t arrived yet. Once Sex Machine finally arrived and Stark got his pictures, Nick could finally begin.

The Rules

Nick knew the rules might take a little extra time to clarify, but surprisingly the cards seemed to have a solid understanding. Before long, tee-off was right around the corner.

The Course

With the sounds of tree hits, barn hits, and celebrations from big putts echoing through the course, you could quietly hear the sadness as discs were lost early in the round. The course rewarded some with birdies and punished others with bogeys.

For the lead card, the course played as if they were the only group out there. Maybe it was all the birdies that had them finishing well before the rest of the field—or maybe that card was just playing by different rules. I guess we’ll never know.

Shooter’s Alley ended up playing better than expected, with little to no delays or backups. It just needs a few more lines and some additional play to truly become established.

The Finish

In typical Hi-Lo fashion, controversy was waiting right around the corner. As the League Director made his way up the 17th fairway, his card noticed another group that appeared lost—trying to figure out which hole they didn’t play or had missed.

At that moment, Nick probably wished he wasn’t the LD. As rumblings surfaced before cards were even finished, it was clear the issue was already boiling over.

The Results

After reviewing the situation with several league members and gathering votes from individuals not impacted by the decision, the league voted to stroke the card that had submitted incorrect scores—unfortunately ruining Stark and Ryan’s otherwise perfect day.

Before anyone says this wasn’t fair, remember that the scores were still incorrect well after the event was over, and that same card failed to enter a team score on Hole 5 altogether.

The Future

For the first time in league history, the legend Ryan Wolfe sits in first place, alongside Dave, Tony, and Eric. The checkered flag is nowhere near being waved, and the season is still young. Take the win and celebrate it—but know this: the real champions are lurking in the shadows, waiting to seize the moment.
