Feb Recap

In the previous five years of the infamous Walzy Disc-Golf League (WDGL), there’s only been one person who won the first ‘individual’ league-day tournament that also won the overall championship! … and that was in 2022 – prior to the start of the January “high / low” doubles’ tournament that kicked off the 2023 season and has ever since (2023 -2026)!
Nick “DickTater” Walls won the first league-day tourney in ’22 and subsequently won the overall WDGL championship that same year!
Sorry, Liam. Congratulations on winning the first ‘individual’ WDGL league-day tournament you participated in at The QUEST – North Branch, MI!
But, if history stays the same as the previous three seasons, winning in February doesn’t equate to an ‘overall championship’ after the league-day tournament in November. And – you’ll also become the 3rd ‘RE-RATED’ player (joining the ranks of StarkNATION and dylan Dylan DYLAN!
There are many current and former WDGL members that never took ‘top HONOR$’ for a league-day tourney, so kudos LIAM for your overall ‘hot round’ as well as the hottest round with handicap.
- Two ‘scuzzes’ of the three in the league this year missed the season opener: rumor has it they were dishing out ‘mouth hugs’ and caught the ‘VID.
- BigBLAKE won the ‘league-fee’ raffle – which is good, he can buy another ‘favorite driver disc’ for the one he lost on the snowy tundra in North Branch (it was a great drive, though)!
- StarkNATION said about as many f-bombz throughout 18 holes as #FloridaPRO’s missed ‘makeable putts’! (and that was a plethora). Mr. Bricking doesn’t like snowy conditions, even with his futuristic-spiked shoe adapters!
- KKscuzz smoked about as many cigarettes as StarkNation was over par = +12. Great round, Keith!
- #SexMachine aka HinzeLICIOUS unfortunately didn’t do very many ‘back-pocket’ shots for birdies on Sunday!
Our card had the most fun along with the most ‘laughs!’ MANY of the laughs were directed at your’s truly, some were directed by your’s truly.
With Liam’s 1st-place finish, he moved into the top-spot for overall points: 30.25. Followed by:
2nd: Olaf the Wizard Sleeve (29.5),
3rd: Andrew YES! (28.75)
4th: MoneyMan Tony (25.25)
5th: NickZ (24.75)
Four players – that with my ‘best guess’ will be in the “top10” overall by year’s end, currently sit in 19th -22nd: FloridaPRO – new-guy Chris B. (10.75 points); BigE A. (10.25); previous WDGL champion ‘Shroomy’ PAT (9.75) and dylan Dylan DYLAN (9).
League history: this is the 6th annual Walzy Disc-Golf league season!
2021 = 10 players
2022 = 15 players
2023 = 20 players
2024 = 20 players
2025 = 24 players (finished the season with 24: Tyler quit & Trent paid his full-year ‘league dues,’ but missed a ton; Stark missed a few months with a bum knee but threw in the last two league events)
2026 = 26 players (record)
… The more things change, the more they stay the same: another league day with no WOLFE. 1st overall to nearly worst. No need to say more. Wolfe’s ‘yard sale’ of anything and everything related to ‘disc golf’ should be in mid-MAY (maybe in June after the league-day tournament). His abysmal 6.25 points currently place him in 24th overall 😊.
UP NEXT: Ionia State Park (wherever T.F. that is … by Grand Rapids one would assume) = March 8th , 2026 = daylight saving’s time 😊
